In 2012, the Zurich-based web agency subwave Internet, founded by Daniel Schulthess, developed the Random Art Generator—a software tool for creating algorithmic vector graphics. Initially used for website visuals, flyers, and artwork, the goal was to bring a personal and creative touch to mass-produced items, making them more engaging and unique. As subwave Internet expanded into e-commerce—launching some of the first online watch shops in Europe—it was a natural evolution to apply this personalization concept to timepieces. This led to the creation of CONCENTRIC-WATCH, a microbrand focused on Swiss-made watches. Each piece was handcrafted in collaboration with a trusted watchmaker, combining precision craftsmanship with individually generated, one-of-a-kind designs.

Over a decade later, CONCENTRIC watches were officially launched in a limited series of 500 pieces, produced to the highest standards in a renowned Hong Kong watch factory—trusted by several Swiss-Made brands for their exceptional quality.

During this time, Daniel Schulthess also gained recognition in the art world under the name Daniel Wave, showcasing his vibrant, digitally-driven art concept in exhibitions in New York City and Las Vegas. His works have been acquired by international collectors and art buyers, further establishing his creative vision across both design and fine art.
